Advantages︰ working principle
The tube is an accurate and controllable three terminal electronic switching device, and it is also a gas discharger.
During application, once the tube is required to play a control role, first apply a DC voltage between the anode and the cathode (i.e. the main gap), and then apply a trigger pulse voltage between the trigger electrode and the cathode. As soon as the trigger voltage is applied, the trigger gap generates discharge and plasma. These plasmas quickly break down the main gap under the action of the main gap electric field, so there is a high peak pulse current in the anode circuit. This high-power pulse outputs a corresponding strong pulse on the load, which can be used to achieve a variety of different application purposes.
