Vacuum Relays Switching Characteristics

Vacuum Relays Switching Characteristics
Vacuum relays are available in SPST normally open (N/O) and normally closed (N/C) models, as well as SPDT, DPDT, and 4PDT configurations. Latching relays are available in some models. These relays are available in two main configurations: ground isolated designed for hot switching, and non-isolated meant for cold switching. Ground isolated relays have their operating elements insulated from the ground plane to provide absolute voltage isolation between the housing and the high voltage contacts...up to 15,000 V peak.
Installation of Flange Mountings on CSVF-500 Vacuum Capacitor
Purpose :
§                 To provide instructions for the installation of the flange mountings on the CSVF-500 vacuum capacitor.
§                 To provide a recommendation for torque rating on the clamping screws of the FM2S and FM2 flange mountings. Proper clamping will ensure secure mount of the capacitor to the system and alleviate potential capacitor damage due to over tightening.
Procedure:
1.       Place FM2 mounting flange (P/N 110954) onto variable end of capacitor with mounting holes furthest away from body of capacitor as shown in Figure 2. Make sure mounting flange is firmly seated against variable end seal.
Caution: Do not force flange mounting onto capacitor. Make sure clamping screw is fully loosened so the flange mounting slips freely over variable end seal of capacitor.
2.       Hand tighten flange screw up to 6.0 to 6.5 in-lbs.
3.       Check to make sure that flange mounting is secure on capacitor.
